The Phoenix Motor Company’s Mercedes Benz Holiday Racquet Tournament will soon be here! The tournament date is December 16th – 18th, starting at noon on Friday. Once again we will be doing an Olympic format and will be taking 64 entries only.

Village Racquet and Health Club – Phoenix

ONLY 24 PLACES LEFT SO DON”T DELAY YOUR SIGN UP. Entries close Dec 1st or when sign ups are full

Remind you of the format, you are guaranteed 3 matches and to win the money it will take 5 matches. Although you sign up by ratings , the draws get merged to make 2 draws of 32 so you might find yourself not where you think. Basically there will be an A and a B division Those of you who played this last year enjoyed the format.

Please make sure you know we need to start from noon Friday.

All entrants must be done on-line only. Please secure your spot early so you’ll be able to participate in Arizona’s premiere holiday racquet sports tournament. If you do need to withdraw for any reason, refunds will be issued up until the closing date of December 1st.

Again for those of you who played in this last year, you know it is an event not to be missed! Your entry fee includes squash, lunch on two days, and a “goodie package” which includes a dri-fit style shirt, snacks, gatorade, beer tickets and, of course, prize money at all levels! Sign up today!

FYI there is also a racquetball and tennis tournament running alongside the squash and you can play in 2 events

Thanks, Tina

Coming from out of town? We will have hotel deals for you starting at $84 for a double double at the Marriott Courtyard on Camelback and 20th street. I will have the link posted on the website later today

Dear Squashers

It’s been a while but Santa Barbara Athletic Club’s next squash tournament
is just over a month away. The Hi Tec Santa Barbara Open will be held on the
weekend of September 14th – 16th.

There are divisions for everyone, men and women, skill levels, age groups,
and juniors.

Hi Tec are sponsoring the event and will be showing off their brand new
range of squash shoes – the most technologically advanced squash shoe ever! You
will have a chance to watch a DVD that shows the research and development
process in bringing the shoe to market. The shoes will be available for purchase
at a special tournament price.

Immediate family guests are welcome to use the club at no extra charge,
there’s bound to be some impromptu evening social activities, as well as the
option of signing up for the Friday night wine tasting.

The entry form is attached – bear in mind it is an 8 1/2 x 14 document if
you try to print it. They will also be in the regular mail later this week.

Please let me know if you have any questions. I hope to see you here!

Jonathan Power vs Jon White exhibition – Power, from Canada, is WORLD former #1 and White, from Scotland, is one of the hardest hitting players ever. The match is FREE (thanks to the now defunct AZSRA) and open to everyone. It will be Saturday May 19th at 5:30 PM at the Gainey Club in north Scottsdale (a fabulous facility). Take advantage of this opportunity to see WORLD CLASS SQUASH in Arizona because it probably will not happen again for a long, long time.
